His focus is defining social marketing strategies and execution to help brands create long term social engagement to help grow their business.

Most recently as the founder of the Social Symphony Tom has, weaved social tactics in concert with CRM 2.0 social strategies with Colgate, Cadillac, Kraft, Gallo, Reebok and others and has spoken about these subjects at iMedia Brand Summit, IAB Social, MITX and OMMA Social.

As a strategic consultant, Tom has worked on specific assignments with leading social companies like MyYearbook, SocialVibe, Affinitive and is an architect of “Conversational Marketing for Brands”. He establishing the acclaimed “Can We Talk” Conversational marketing process in 2006, with My Cadillac Stories and Reebok Run Easy- the first strategic paid and earned social marketing execution.

In his work, Tom has focused on the friction between digital technology and that human emotional moment where technology gets in the way of creating authentic connections with people. He has always worked to put people and the human social experience first.

Tom has been a leader in the Social Marketing world since early 2000 - previously at SocialVibe – connecting people, brands and causes, and at Pajamas Media – the first conversational marketing blog network, and the CEO and founder of EmotionEngine where he created the concept of data based Emotional Profiling to align brands with the emotional makeup of people, working with Yahoo and others to improve marketing performance.

Tom has twenty-seven years experience using communications as a tool to solve business problems. He was previously a senior consultant with Towers Perrin and Decker Communications focused on mergers and acquisition and change management communication strategy. Mr. Troja was part of the launch of The Disney Channel and started his career in cable television as a production manager for CBS Cable.

Tom earned a Master Degree in Communications Management with distinction from the Annenberg School of Communications at the University of Southern California and received a B.A. from Boston University IN History and Economics. Tom resides in Bronxville, New York with his family.
