Steve Grubbs is President and founder of Second Act Media consultancy. Second Act Media is an advisor to companies working in the media, marketing, entertainment and sports industries.
Prior to creating Second Act Media, Steve worked in a variety of management positions within the Omnicom Media Group (OMG) and BBDO in his 32 years with the Omnicom Group. Most recently from 2007 to 2009, Steve was CEO of the OMG Entertainment & Sports Group. This unit provided its clients sports and entertainment strategy consultancy, sports television media buying, content creation and distribution, and branded entertainment services.
Prior to his role at OMG Entertainment & Sports, Steve was CEO of PHD North America from 2002 to 2007. PHD N.A. is a division of the PHD global network, with 43 offices in the U.S. and Canada. PHD is one of the leading media services agencies in the U.S.
Before joining PHD, Steve was the CEO of OMD USA, Omnicom's leading global media services network. He joined OMD USA at its inception in April of 1999, and managed the integration of the broadcast buying assets of its primary agency networks (BBDO, DDB and TBWA/Chiat/Day) into the second largest broadcast buying company in the U.S. Prior to joining OMD USA, Steve was EVP, Director of National TV Buying and Program Development, at BBDO New York, where he worked for 22 years.
Steve is a four-time winner of Mediaweek's "Media All-Stars" Award and a two-time winner of Advertising Age's "Media Mavens" Award. He is on the Board of the International Radio and Television Society, the John A. Reisenbach Foundation, and serves on the Ad Council TV Steering Committee.
