Time, Inc announced that Laura Lang is their new CEO. Interesting AdAge article with lots of quotes Laura+Langabout her being ‘digital’ (apparently a good thing), but lacking some ‘publishing experience’ (not a good thing), and that the old guard at the company will be happier (not sure if that’s a good thing), and even some note that she has excellent buy-side experience (pretty good, I think). Oh yeah, and she’s a very good manager (couldn’t hurt).

But the big thing that wasn’t mentioned is that she’s a terrific and experienced brand marketer. And if there is a company that needs a brand marketing makeover, it’s Time, Inc. And that, as Martha Stewart would say, is a very good thing.
