Chris Harrison joined Kelly as co-host on LIVE WITH KELLY today. They both looked good. Kelly had on a pair of shoes I had never seen before. I don't watch THE BACHELOR or THE BACHELORETTE, and I didn't know that Chris Harrison, the host, is currently going through a divorce, but I did think Kelly's idea of having him as the next bachelor was actually a good one...the host becomes the contestant...there's something there I think.

-Finally got to see the season finale of SMASH...LOVED IT! SPOILER ALERT: Ellis came clean about poisoning Uma Thurman, Michael Swift's wife left him which means he is now going to make trouble for Debra Messing in Season 2. Derek chose Karen to play Marilyn. Ivy was so pissed off that she told Karen that she slept with Dev hoping that Karen would bag the show, but of course sexy Derek talks her off the ledge, back into her wig and onto that stage. Ivy thought once Karen went missing that she of course would save the day...NOT. So just as Karen is singing the final number (that was written and learned in under a minute) and is on the verge of stardom, Ivy appears to be O'Ding on pills...just like Marilyn...ironic but a perfect cliffhanger!

-I thought that in the SUBURGATORY finale, Alicia Silverstone would finish her stint on the show by going into labor. That sort of happened, but SPOILER ALERT: no baby before the end credits. Lisa found out that she unfortunately isn't the adopted one of the family, but her brother Ryan is! I KNEW IT! Dahlia went to Israel on Mother's Day with her dad, Jay Mohr, while Dallas, trying to keep her spirits up, ran the Mother's Day 5K in a pair of gold Reebok high top classics. (You know the ones from the late 80's that now I want again). James Ingram sang "Find 100 Ways" for Sheila as a Mother's Day surprise from her husband...surprise was on him when he found out that Sheila and James Ingram once dated. Finally, Tessa didn't get the internship at THE VILLAGE VOICE and was missing her real Mom, but who shows up in the last 60 seconds...Grandma.

MODERN FAMILY wasn't that funny this week...maybe they were saving this week's funny to double up the funny for the finale? Don't get me wrong, it was still a watchable episode, just not pumped up with hilarity. Jay apparently has a waitress and a sandwich (that sounded gross btw) at his Modern Familyfavorite diner that everyone but Gloria knows about, Gloria was jealous but got over it. Luke set a fire at school but covered it up by getting caught putting the fire out which earned him a medal that of course had to go back when the family found out the truth. Lily the annoying devil child was even more annoying this week and Claire criticized Cam for not saying "no" and disciplining her. I think the Lily storyline was what ruined the show for me this week...I can't stand Lily and to make her extra annoying on purpose is not cool at all. Alex needed the entire family to pose for a Norman Rockwell live portrait for school, which was a play on the show's opening with the families in the frames...unfortunately the family drama went on as they posed...this was the funniest moment of the show...oh yeah...one more thing I almost forgot. Phil had to fire Mitch and apparently when he has to deal with confronting someone...he blinks a lot. Phil is funny...plain and simple...he's funny.

The white haired man showed up on REVENGE...that guy looks familiar, but I can't place him. Other than that, really, the biggest thing to happen, which killed me...Sammy the dog died. Jack and E/A were together and made out...of course Ashley saw this through the porch window. With all of those Dolphin camera's everywhere, you would think that E/A would have one on her own porch to alert her of any intruders. Victoria stole the evidence she needed from Conrad and then gave it over to Daniel only to hear him call Conrad and know for sure that Daniel is officially on his side...at least for now. Next week's finale looks juicy, let's hope it doesn't disappoint.

CBS announced their Primetime Lineup yesterday. Due to technical difficulties, I couldn't stream the presentation live, so I checked out the clips online. I'll make the assumption that at the presentation, Les Moonves, who is always a strong enthusiastic presenter, reminded the audience that CBS is number one against all key demos while reminding us that the competition is down in all key demos. I bet that Julie Chen warns him about the negativity every year, but just like most guys he tunes her out (except MY husband who listens to every word that comes out of my mouth). Then, if I'm right again, Nina Tassler came out to tell us that TWO AND A HALF MEN is moving to Thursday and 2 BROKE GIRLS is taking its time slot on Monday's. As is the case with all of my clip reviews so far...I reserve the right to revisit these comments AFTER I see the pilots.

  • PARTNERS- based on the true relationship of WILL & GRACE creators David Kohan & Max Mutchnick, who have been friends since they were kids. The guy from NUMBERS is straight and engaged to Sophia Bush (really believable) and his BFF is gay...totally need to see the entire pilot. I could like this one, but hard to tell
  • VEGAS-Michael Chiklis and Dennis Quaid...1960s Vegas, Cowboys/Gangsters...totally not my thing
  • ELEMENTARY-Modern day Sherlock Holmes starring Aidan Quinn and Lucy Liu...another one that is not my genre at all
  • MADE IN NJ-British actress plays a NJ 1st year attorney...fish out of water type deal...you know my rules...nothing legal for me

Note to Nina Tassler: RULES OF ENGAGEMENT does well when you leave it alone and air it...just make the deal and keep it on the air, we love Russell & Timmy!
